Honeycomb bread recipe

Ajmal Abdirahman

This is a recipe that my mom would make every Ramadan or on special occasions! It’s a Somali desert that is also made by Yemenis. In Somali we also call it Rooti Shinnidhaab.

Something I really like about this bread is it is very alterable, you can almost fill it with anything, savory or sweet. Fillings like, fruits, chocolate, peanut butter, coconut, vegetables, meatballs, and chicken. There’s a lot of freedom to it but this recipe is the way my family has grown up on!

Ingredients:
Bread-

  • 2⁄3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 3 more tablespoons of sugar
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon of salt
    1⁄4 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 3⁄4 cup of cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of milk (for brushing)
  • 1 tablespoon of butter (for pan)

Syrup-

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1⁄2 tablespoon lemon juice OR Condensed milk (drizzle on top)

Instructions on how to make Honeycomb Bread:

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Combine lukewarm milk, yeast, and the 1 tablespoon of sugar, let the yeast mixture activate for 10 minutes
  3. Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and butter and then add yeast mixture
  4. Knead for 5 minutes and cover with dampened towel and let rise for 1 hour
  5. Cut dough in half and shape each half into cylinder, cut each cylinder into 16 pieces, roll all 32 pieces into balls
  6. Place the balls into your buttered pan and brush the tops of them with milk
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes
  8. When out of the oven pour on your boiled together syrup or condensed milk drizzle or serve the buns without syrup!

Then you are ready to enjoy the honeycomb bread! It’s best eaten warm and fresh out the oven with a nice glass of milk or tea! Enjoy!

‘The Barbie Movie’ trailer

By: Greta Johnson

Last month, the full trailer for ‘The Barbie Movie’ was released. Directed by Greta Gerwig and based on the Barbie toy distributed by Mattel, this movie has many people excited and planning to see it as soon as it’s released. It stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Michael Cera and many more celebrities. The trailer that was recently released has about 10.5 million views on YouTube and went viral on social media.

This trailer is about 1 minute and 45 seconds long and it shows Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. The general summary says “After being expelled from Barbie Land for being a less than perfect-looking doll, Barbie sets off for the human world to find true happiness.” We don’t know a lot more about this movie but many people are counting down the days until its release.

In total there are over 41 Barbie movies. Most are animated and made by the same production studio. They show Barbie and her friends adventures and are more low budget films.

This Barbie movie has a budget of 100 million dollars and has been “in the making” for awhile. First announced in 2019, it is set to release July 21, 2023. This movie seems like the most awaited movie of the summer. Surprisingly, the movie is rated PG-13 and it’s directed more for adults and “big kids” than younger kids.

Currently that’s all the information we have on this new movie but I’m sure in the coming weeks more information will come out regarding storyline, actors, and general information on the film.

My top 5 favorite albums of the 2020s (so far)

By: Charlie Boone

So much incredible music has come out in the past three years, so here are 5 of my favorite albums from 2020-2023, from any genre, in chronological order.

LEYA – ‘Flood Dream’ (2020)

LEYA is an experimental music duo from Brooklyn, New York consisting of harpist Marilu Donovan and vocalist/violinist Adam Markiewicz. Their 2020 album, ‘Flood Dream’ is a haunting and hypnotizing experience combining Donovan’s low-tuned and dissonant harp with Markiewicz’s ghostly operatic vocals for a final product that is as beautiful as it is petrifying. There’s a very distinct eerie quality that feels cinematic but in a very unorthodox way, like it’s the score to a VHS tape that kills you if you press play.

Favorite track: “INTP”

ZelooperZ – ‘Valley of Life’ (2020)

Throughout his time making music in the exciting and ever-evolving Detroit rap scene, ZelooperZ has paved his way as a creative talent, melding elements from both underground and mainstream hip-hop, as well as jazz and club music. He’s an incredibly consistent artist with multiple albums out this decade that could all be on this list, but 2020’s ‘Valley of Life’ stands out to me as a particularly fleshed-out and replayable experience.

ZelooperZ plays with various styles of rap, melding them together with a constant personality and distinctive production style. “Fooseball” features a jazzy lo-fi beat with a unique and infectious groove, while “What2du” (featuring an incredible verse from New York neo-soul artist Fousheé) has what is probably my favorite beat on the album, with eerie synth stabs and sparse yet bouncy percussion reminiscent of Soulja Boy and Tisakorean.

Favorite track: “Just Me”

Brand of Sacrifice – ‘Lifeblood’ (2021)

In the early 2010s, deathcore was at its peak, creatively and commercially. Bands like Suicide Silence and Whitechapel were establishing their footing as the current top dogs of extreme metal, while bands like Winds of Plague and Disfiguring the Goddess were experimenting with technicality and orchestral elements to further expand the sound.

Over a decade later, the deathcore scene seems to me like it’s going in two different directions, one focused on the revival of what made the old scene so great, and the other focused on modernizing and polishing the sound to make it fresh.

In my opinion, the 2000s revival scene is much more interesting with a rawer, more aggressive edge, but the biggest exception to that is Brand of Sacrifice. Their 2021 record ‘Lifeblood’ is pretty much the perfect embodiment of mixing mind-bending brutality with fantastic modern production, and the closest thing to the logical conclusion of what the 2000s deathcore bands were experimenting with.

Favorite track: “Lifeblood”

Ghais Guevara – There Will Be No Super-Slave (2022)

Philadelphia rapper Ghais Guevara has been making waves in the underground recently with incredible, entirely self-produced rap records that are, in my opinion, some of the best and most groundbreaking hip-hop projects I’ve heard in recent memory, combining the aggressive and energetic sounds of East Coast drill and Jersey club with a calmer, more introspective style both over masterfully selected soul and pop samples. ‘There Will Be No Super-Slave’ is definitely Ghais’s current best work and a great showcase of his massive amount of talent.

Still, it’s clear that this isn’t the furthest he wants to go with his sound, and given the way he’s been talking about his upcoming record, I am very much looking forward to what he comes up with next.

Favorite track: “Face/Off”

Danger Mouse & Black Thought – ‘Cheat Codes’ (2022)

The Roots’ Black Thought teams up with super-producer Danger Mouse to craft a jazzy hip-hop soundscape full of dusty drum breaks, fantastic sample work, and countless double entendres. The album’s old-school boom-bap style doesn’t necessarily lend itself to innovation, but with the addition of features like the late MF DOOM and New York staple from Griselda Records, Conway the Machine, ‘Cheat Codes’ is genuinely a perfectly constructed hip-hop album that feels like a portal into a dusty crate of old vinyl records with one of the greatest MCs of all time spitting at the top of his game.

Favorite track: “Aquamarine” (feat. Michael Kiwanuka)

Tony’s restaurant review

By: Mae Skold

Tony’s restaurant is a quaint Italian restaurant in the heart of Monaco. Monaco is a luxurious, beautiful city-state right next to France on the sea. Being just a few hours away from Italy, Tony’s restaurant knows how to cook real, authentic Italian food. The outdoor seating and hospitality right when you get to the door lure people into the restaurant.

When walking down the beautiful street the restaurant’s on, the owners of Tony’s are there to greet you. After getting seated at the table, the menu given is filled with endless pastas, pizzas, salads, each one better than the next.

For an appetizer I recommend the Caprese salad. It has fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and garden grown basil that all tie together beautifully. The balsamic glaze and olive oil served with it are also great flavor enhancers. This dish is the perfect start to your meal.

For entrees I recommend two, the carbonara and the pesto pasta. The pasta is home made fresh in the restaurant and cooked to a perfection. The carbonara is tossed in a creamy, peppery sauce and topped with prosciutto. This salty, creamy pasta is a must when ordering. The pesto is made with the same fresh pasta but cooked in a butter, basil pesto sauce. This pasta is light and a more refreshing option on the menu; perfect for warm weather.

To finish off your meal Tony’s offers a variety of traditional Italian gelato flavors. They make their own gelato in house and have up to 15 flavors to choose from. A fan favorite is the espresso flavored gelato that has espresso churned into the gelato. This desert is the perfect end to a delicious meal.

Tony’s truly has everything to offer when it comes to a restaurant. Not only is the food delicious, the people and charm is its hook. If visiting Monaco, make sure you stop in Tony’s restaurant.

Chocoflan

By: Jessica Garcia Saligan

This pastry called chocoflan is a traditional Mexican pastry that has a rich taste. Chocoflan is a two layer cake: chocolate cake on the bottom and flan (the custard on the top layer) that has caramel sauce all over it.

Ingredients

Cake

  • Any type of Chocolate cake
  • Cooking spray
  • Carmel sauce

Flan

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Evaporated Milk
  • Softened Cream Cheese
  • 1 Large Egg
  • Vanilla Extract

First, you’re going to want to preheat the oven to 350 for it to heat up when it’s time to put the chocoflan in.

Then in a spray a 12-cup fluted tube cake pan with cooking spray.

You’re going to want to spread an even layer of any kind of Carmel sauce.

In a large bowl you are going to be mixing the cake batter. It could either be homemade chocolate cake or out of a box cake; either one works.

Once you’re done, you’re going to pour the chocolate batter into the pan carefully.

In a blender, you’re going to place all the ingredients to make the flan part of the cake.

Blend on a high speed for 20 seconds or until the mixture becomes smooth.

Very carefully pour the flan mixture into the cake batter, both batters are going to mix but they will separate while baking forming a two layer cake.

Place a sheet of foil and spray cooking spray on it, then place it on the bottom of a large roasting pan.

Place the cake pan in the large roasting pan; add 1 inch of hot water to the roasting pan.

Bake for 1 hour 20 minutes. Once the timer goes off, to make sure your cake and flan mixture is baked completely, get a tooth pick and stick in the middle. If it comes out clean it means it’s ready but if you notice some batter on the stick leave it in for a few more minutes until the toothpick comes out clean.

Remove the cake pan from the water and set it on a cooling rack; remove the foil.

Let it cool to room temperature for 1 hour then refrigerate uncovered for 2 hours.

Once it’s done cooling, run a metal spatula around the outer and inside of the pan to loosen the cake.

Place a plate on the bottom of the pan, turning it over and slowly removing the pan.

Remove the extra Carmel, that was left on the, pan onto the cake.

All done. Enjoy!

Who I think gave the best Coachella performances

By: Mya Olson – Williams

Many are aware that 2 weekends ago was the first weekend of the popular music festival in California, Coachella. There are two weekends of this three day festival. The headliners are Bad Bunny, BlackPink, and Frank Ocean. Smaller artists that are also performing are Kali Uchis, Labrinth, TV Girl, and so many more.

Labrinth

Labrinth’s music is usually recognized from the show Euphoria. In his weekend one performance, he brought out the special guest, Billie Eilish to perform their newest collaboration.

On weekend two, he sang another two singles with special guest, Zendaya. During Labrinth’s shows, the crowds were loud and interactive. His stage setups were cool and unique. He sounded great live, overall giving an amazing performance.

Calvin Harris

Calvin Harris is popular for collaborating with other artists like Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, and Dua Lipa. During his shows, he played lots of well known songs, had cool stage lighting, and a massive crowd with high energy. On weekend two, Calvin sang with Ellie Goulding. At one point, he made a tribute to the rapper Takeoff, who died in late 2022.

boygenius

boygenius is a smaller band, featuring Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker. They recently released an album called ‘the record’. They sounded great together live, and you can tell everyone loved their music. boygenius had a really cool stage set up as well.

Overall, there were multiple amazing shows and performances this year, and these were my personal favorites. Coachella 2023 seemed like a great time, and I hope next year is the same.

Best places to eat in St. Paul

By: Lauren Kottke & Ella Sutherland

St. Paul has some great restaurants and places to eat. Here are some of our favorites!

One of our favorite places is The Nook. The Nook is a family owned business located on Hamline Ave. We love this place because it has great food, atmosphere and fun activities. The burger is great, and we would definitely recommend getting it from here. They are best known for their Juicy Lucy Burger.

It’s also a great place to bring your kids and family. Downstairs they have a bowling alley connected to another part of the restaurant. You can go bowling for a very cheap price and then grab some great food all right there.

Another great thing about this place is the wall they have downstairs in the bowling alley. The Nook is known for their great burgers, but also their money wall. In the bowling alley restaurant, they have the walls and ceilings filled with $1 bills decorated. You can decorate a $1 bill and then put it anywhere on the wall!

Another great place we recommend is French Meadow. French Meadow is another amazing restaurant close by, it’s located on Grand Ave. We have been there many times and we have always had a good experience. They have great food and service. Our favorites are the soups, salads and fries. They also have a very good chicken wrap during lunch.

If you go there, you must check out the deserts! They have different types of brownies, pastries and cakes. Our go-to is the caramel brownie. Although this place is very different from The Nook, it is still a great place to visit!

The family restaurant DeGidio’s has been around since 1933. They are known for their amazing Italian food, but they also do have some great American food, like burgers. Our favorites are the Chicken Parmesan and the Lasagna. They also are known for their bread that they give out. It’s fluffy bread with seasoned butter. Definitely one of our favorites!

Every experience we have had there, has been a great one. Another thing that makes this place so special is the service. Anytime we have been there it has been busy, but never a long wait. The workers make sure you don’t wait too long for a table. And they always make sure you have a good time!

Sakana is one of our favorite places to go out to eat. It has such a wide range of sushi. There are so many different kinds of sushi you can get, whether that be having raw fish, cooked fish, or no fish. The atmosphere is great with trendy music playing as well as excellent service. The prices are very reasonable and affordable.

You may also sit at the bar where they have TVs and they serve drinks. There is also a place where you can sit and watch the chef make the sushi right in front of you. They have great appetizers as well as great soups. This place is overall just great!

The last restaurant we recommend is Punch Pizza. This restaurant has a few locations that are scattered around Minnesota, but there is one located right on Grand Ave. They have so many different kinds of authentic Neapolitan pizza that are cooked with a 900 degree wood-burning oven.

The restaurant itself has such a lively atmosphere and it is always overflowing with customers. They have amazing side salads as well, that are quite filling. This is a great place to go with friends and family!

These are just a few of the places that Saint Paul has to offer, and our favorites!

The career of SZA so far

By: Isabelle Baidoo

SZA, Solána Imani Rowe, is by far one of the most influential music artists of this generation. Not only has she topped the charts countless times, but she has been nominated for a Grammy 15 times.

Rowe was born on November 8, 1989. She was raised in Maplewood, New Jersey by Abdul Mubarak-Rowe and Audrey Rowe. Her father was an executive producer for CNN, and her mother was an executive at AT&T.

Rowe created the stage name, SZA, from the Supreme Alphabet. The Supreme Alphabet is a system of interpreting text and finding deeper meaning. The S in SZA stands for savior or sovereignty. The Z stands for Zig-Zag, which means Knowledge, Wisdom, and Understanding. Since it’s the last letter of the alphabet it represents the final step of consciousness. Then lastly, the A stands for Allah. She also stated that she took influence from RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan.

Her musical career started in the early 2010s. She had released two pieces before signing with Top Dawg Entertainment. After being signed with her record label she released ‘Z’. This would be her third EP and first retail release.

Rowe has 7 Top 10 Hits on the Billboard Charts and has had 39 songs in the top 100. The highest song on the list being “Kiss Me More”, which remained on the charts for 43 weeks; its peak position being 3rd place.

She has won countless awards, but the most recent dating back to 2019 are:

  • The NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Duo or Group (“All The Stars”)
  • The BET Her Award (“Good Days”)
  • The Billboard Music Award for Top Viral Song (“Kiss Me More”)
  • and lastly The iHeartRadio Music Award for R&B Song of the Year (“I Hate U”).

On June 9, 2017, SZA released ‘CTRL’, her debut studio album. This album has fourteen tracks, all co-written by SZA herself. She collaborated with many other artists for this album including Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, James Fauntleroy, and Isaiah Rashad.

‘CTRL’ pays homage to the fear of losing control. In the intro of “Supermodel”, she states “That is my greatest fear. That if, if I lost control. Or did not have control, things would just, you know? I would be, fatal”. ‘CTRL’ is made to be a relatable commentary on how life is for a “20 something” year old. Facing issues with love, body image, confidence, and of course, control.

Rowe is commonly known for her advice and inspiring quotes.

Such as, “I love empowering women. I think it’s crazy: if you ever try to belittle women, you’re playing yourself – I ride with whoever rides with me.” -SZA

Or, “Don’t get discouraged with your skin when it doesn’t do what you want it to do…Give it some time. That’s the only way to get to know yourself.” -SZA

SZA has helped so many people realize that their dreams of succeeding in the music industry are possible, and with hard work and determination you can achieve whatever you put your mind to.

JOYSTiCK Ep. 8: ‘Wingspan’ – Physicality Through Barn Swallows

By: Daniel Kendle

Birds of a feather stack nicely together.

Hello, it’s time for another episode of JOYSTiCK, the HPSH serial that enjoys exploring and reviewing video games. And now, it’s time that we go to the real world. The time is upon us; the sun rises on a new day, a new quarter of the school year, the time for board games.

’Wingspan’ is a board game made by Stonemaier Games in 2019, functioning as a complex strategy title centered around collecting birds, food, eggs, and repetition. This is one of the more complicated titles I’ve reviewed here, so buckle up, because it’s time we grab our binoculars, notepads, and assorted nuts and dive into ‘Wingspan.’

…..

PART ONE: ARTWORK

Seeing as a board game without artwork is like a video game without animation, ‘Wingspan’ obviously has pictures and graphic designs to accompany game elements, like the birds themselves. And said designs are lovely!

There are many different components to the game, so a wide variety of colorful imagery was necessary, especially for the art of the birds. As we’ll get into later, there are over 100 different species of birds for you to collect in a round, all of which have been recreated in lavish detail. They’re fairly realistic: each bird has its correct plumage and patterns drawn in a very informed, yet styled manner.

Other parts have also had much love and care put into them. The boards each player gets have much detail, though not enough to distract from their interface you play down cards onto. The dice with the different varieties of food shown are well-made, and even the instruction manual is crafted nicely. There does come a point where the overwhelming number of physical items you are instructed to use becomes a little straining to the eye, but that’s more of a nitpick with the gameplay, rather than the art.

We also have to talk about the digital port released later down the road by Monster Couch for Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles, as well as for iPhone and PC’s. Here, along with many other additions and improvements, animations for UI pieces and the birds themselves are introduced.

The UI additions are whatever, cool I guess, but the REAL meat-and-potatoes of the overhaul is through the birds. Each has their own unique animations when played, mostly just fidgeting in place while they’re flying or roosting. Still, it brings a lot of real-life character and influence into the game, making it feel as if the birds are actually there, and not just still images. My only nitpick is that the animation is clearly through rigging, which, while fine, does make some animations look weird. Birds are generally known to have very quick movement, and having a jelly-like system is a tad odd. Still though, great work.

PART TWO: GAMEPLAY And so, the games begin.

‘Wingspan’ is one of the most complex games I’ve played thus far this school year, and therefore will take a good amount of time to review. As I’ve said before, JOYSTiCK wasn’t made to analyze every single bit of gameplay, instead to get an overview of a child’s take on a game. So take that in mind as I go over the mechanics of a game of ‘Wingspan.’

So, seeing as this is a competitive board game, the object of the game is to win. To win, you need to collect and play down birds. To play birds, you need eggs. To get eggs, you need food. And you need to collect more bird cards in order to effectively use food.

When you have a bird card, you have to either play it in a Forest, Grassland, or Wetland habitat. You get food in the Forest, lay eggs in the Grassland, and get bird cards in the Wetland, and playing a bird in a habitat lets you get more of that item per card. Some birds can be played in all 3 biomes, some, only 1 or 2.

When playing a bird card, you need to spend food in order to do so. There are 5 types of food: Grub, Wheat, Cherries, Fish, and Mice. There’s also a dice side (food comes in the form of dice rolled) with both Grubs and Wheat, where you can choose which you take.

Laying eggs has you – as expected – lay eggs on a bird. Some birds can only lay 1 egg, others multiple. Eggs are used to place down birds after you place down the first card in a biome, as well as being used in after-round goals.

Goals are objectives laid out during each round that give you extra points by the end of a round. There are 4 rounds per game, meaning there are 4 end goals in total. They most commonly relate to how many eggs you have on a certain bird or in a certain habitat, or having birds in a specific biome. These progressively give more points if you beat your opponent. Therefore, they provide a good source of points if need be. However, passing up on them and potentially letting your foe reach them is dangerous.

Of course, what would a game focused on ornithology be without the obvious: birds. There are well over 100 birds in the base game, meaning there’s an inconceivable amount of ways a game could go due to the randomization.

Each bird gives a different amount of points, ranging from 0 to 9. Most birds have some kind of effect either when played or when activated, which happens each turn (birds that have 0 points attached to them generally have a good effect). You get the points from a bird whenever they’re played, and those points, among others, are tallied up at the end when the winner is decided. Effects do stuff to support you while playing, and don’t normally grant you points unless they’re part of another system, such as caching food and getting cards.

Alrighty, that’s most of the gameplay in ‘Wingspan.’ There’s probably some other stuff that I could discuss, but whatever it is is likely not of substance. Now I can give my thoughts on the game!

Anyways, to give the short answer, it’s wonderful. It’s such a relaxing game with play that, while complex, is enough to give some brainpower and thought into each of your turns.

The main loop of getting food, laying eggs, getting birds and placing them down is super satisfying. It feels great every time you’re able to place down a bird, using their abilities to further expand your board. The abilities, while never being super important in the grand scheme of things, are cool in short bursts.

Granted, I do feel like some parts could’ve been shaved off the main game and wouldn’t have affected much. Namely, how there are different types of abilities, like ones that are activated upon being played or ones that are activated every turn. It just makes it annoying to manage. Overall though, the gameplay is wonderful. A HUGE step up from ‘Splatoon 3’ or ‘Minecraft Dungeons,’ in my opinion.

PART THREE: MUSIC

Once again, we go back to the digital port and look at the music within. It’d be strange to just be playing the game in an empty void of noise, so we get some nice music to accompany us. Here are some of my favorites:

  • “Far in the Grassland” is a melodic… melody, that is quite charming to listen to.
  • “Cloud Gazing” is pretty. It has a Ghibli kind of vibe to it, and as someone who quite likes Ghibli movies, this is obviously seen as an absolute win. Others will likely agree with me.
  • And “The Opening” is by far the BEST out of all of these, I love it!

PART FOUR: CONCLUSION

I generally like to buy games that I’ll likely enjoy, which is why the majority of games I’ve reviewed have been fairly positive. There’s been games I’ve reviewed that have gotten worse (such as the 2 I listed at the end of part 2) and there are games that have gotten better, though I can confidently say that ‘Wingspan’ is the 2nd best game I’ve played yet here! It gets a strong 9/10, and is the perfect game to play on a rainy day.

And that’s a wrap for this episode of JOYSTiCK. See you next time, where we’ll either be covering our penultimate or season finale for our 2022-2023 timeline.

Making accordion potatoes

By: Hannah Gliedman

A recent trend taking over food TikTok and Instagram, is accordion potatoes. It’s a form of cutting the potatoes so they make a sort of accordion shape. It’s a very simple and creative way to incorporate a bit of flavor and uniqueness to a dish or meal.

They are very easy and fast to make. They only require simple ingredients and a couple of utensils. Adding this form of potatoes to your meal is a way to visually spice up a plate. They are also very customizable, adding different spices and sauces can change this side. The way of cutting the potatoes is also popular in other foods, such as cucumbers.

What you need
The only ingredient essential to making this side is potatoes. However, I will be sharing different sauces to add to the potatoes. Other things you’ll need, include an air fryer or stove top.

How to make the accordion potatoes

  1. Wash as many potatoes as you would like; each potato can make 2-3 accordions.
  2. Cut the potatoes into about 1⁄4 inch slices, the thinner the slice the more stretch you will get.
  3. Then place the potato on the counter and put 2 chopsticks or skewers on either of the longer sides.
  4. Then cut a lot of lines perpendicular to the skewers; make the cuts close together
  5. Then cut a lot more lines in the same way but diagonal
  6. Then stretch out the potato to create the accordion

To cook

  1. Oven: Add potatoes to a tray, preheat oven to 355 degrees, and bake for 30-40 mins, or until golden and crispy
  2. Air fryer: Add potatoes to the air fryer and fry at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Sauce
Garlic and herb butter
Heat 1⁄4 cup of butter and add 2 tbsp of chopped parsley, 4 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 1⁄2 tsp paprika, 1⁄4 tsp black pepper, and salt to taste. Brush on potatoes before cooking.

Homemade Canes sauces
Add in a bowl 1⁄2 cup of mayo, 1⁄3 cup of ketchup, 1⁄2 tbsp of pickle ranch, 1⁄2 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, 1⁄2 tsp of paprika, 1⁄4 tsp of salt. Whisk together.

Other sauces to use can include ketchup, sriracha mayo, ranch or BBQ sauce.
