This collection of photos shows the season of summer in various different contexts. From a sun-dappled forest floor, to a hazy, dimly-lit parking lot, every photo conceptualizes different distinct feelings I get during this time of year. They aren’t quite emotions, but rather an instinct—a natural reaction to my surroundings that is hard to describe with just words or visuals. I encourage you, the viewer, to do more than just look; feel and experience the surroundings. Limitations fuel creativity.
I took these photos in downtown Minneapolis. I took these photos with my phone. I took a couple more but these are my favorite.
For the first photo, I thought it would fit best if I did the Foshay building because it is one of the oldest and one of the most known buildings in downtown Minneapolis.
For the second photo, I picked a random hotel but I thought it looked kind of cool because it is a mildly tall building but it is in the shape of a triangle.
I really enjoyed taking these photos because I got to walk around downtown and look at all the cool architecture from all the different buildings with the Cappella building’s halo, Wells Fargo’s yellow and orange glow, and the height of the IDS building but also its two lightning rods.
On Friday May 1st, or May Day, there was a big anti war protest that spanned from the Nicollet Island side of the Hennepin Bridge all the way into downtown Minneapolis. Up to ten thousand people participated in this protest showing a lot of support to stop the wars that are going on but also protesting against going to war with Iran.
Other than the protest being related towards anti war, it also was focused on the No Kings or No Kings Day and anti ICE awareness.
I took this photo from the Minneapolis side of the river parkway. I was there with some friends and though we didn’t make signs or anything, we did participate by being there.
In these pictures, I took them throughout Minneapolis. The first one, I took in my neighbor’s yard. The second one, I took at Minnehaha Falls down a path closer to the river. And the last one, I took was on a picnic bench by the park by my house.
I really enjoyed taking these pictures. I also enjoyed being outside when I did take them because it was really nice out and there were a lot of people out, and everyone seemed very happy. The flowers are blooming, which is showing it’s finally getting nice out.
There were also a lot of very cute dogs walking around and even the dogs were happy spring is finally here and everyone’s very excited.
This picture was taken in a park in Roseville. I was going on a walk and noticed how beautiful the green trees and plants were looking. Hearing the water flow was relaxing.
This was also taken in Roseville but on a different time; this was mid August. It was a chilly day at 7pm. It was a nice weather to just walk around the lake.
This picture was taken in Roseville at a park. I was looking at the lake and noticed a cute family of ducks and it was a very sunny and hot day. I was with my family and so was everyone else.
This was in June; me and my little brother were looking at the little waterfall. It was an extremely hot weather day and my brother wanted to jump in the water, though it was very beautiful.
i was walking around and then saw a beaver swimming in the lake. This day it was a very nice day; it was warm but not too hot. I was with my cousin and the beaver was actually going with its family but I didn’t end up taking a picture of them.

I took my pictures down by the Mississippi in downtown Minneapolis. When I was taking these pictures there were a lot of people walking their dogs and just being outside.
It’s finally spring and the weather is showing it. The ice and snow is melting. People are happy and smiling outside and the birds are singing.
The feeling of winter and the feeling of spring is rapidly coming and making everyone and everything happy now that winter is going away.
The reason why I chose pictures of my birds is because I love the color of their feathers and they’re all natural and soft. They represent a little different type of bird than we see in Minnesota, and they’re called parakeets. Their colors are different but similar at the same time.
Birds are clumsy, kind, soft, colorful, sleepy, hungry and small. These pictures I took were everywhere at home. I take my birds to visit different parts of my home and they’re all comfortable.
This is my bird Mickey; he’s getting comfortable with his little feathers.
This is my bird Dulce; she’s chilling outside with fresh air.
My bird’s name is Sky and she’s getting really comfy with the soft blanket.
My two birds, the blue one name is Ocean and the green one is Lemon and they love taking pictures.
