This Halloween there were a lot of really good Halloween costumes that I saw. Some of my favorites included Rio birds, Justin Bieber, and Serena and Blair from ‘Gossip Girl’. Now these were my favorite costumes that I saw but Halloween costumes and what’s popular change every year, so for this article I am going to be talking about what the most popular costumes were this season.
This season the top five costumes were all from the same TV show. The TV show is ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’. This show is really popular among kids, and is the most watched TV show for kids as of right now. Rumi, Zoey, Mira, Jinu, and Baby Saja are in the order of popularity from one to five.
After all of these characters, Chicken Jockey from ‘Minecraft’ is the next popular costume.
After that it is Labubus. Labubus have become very popular among the Gen-Z generation, and can be found at lots of different stores.
Another really popular costume idea is Elphaba and Glinda from ‘Wicked’. This was seen with people of all ages, and with the new ‘Wicked’ movie coming out that makes this a lot more popular and exciting.
Overall, this Halloween we saw a lot of different Halloween costumes, some that were new ideas and some that were old ideas. Either way Halloween is a great holiday that allows people to be creative and express themselves and who they are in many different ways. A lot of the time people make Halloween out to be a holiday just for kids, but it is not. Halloween is for everyone. People just celebrate in many different ways whether it is trick-or-treating, going to parties, or being the one to hand out candy. Halloween is a holiday for everyone, and a great time of year.
Good hygiene is essential for both your physical and mental wellbeing. It holds multiple practices, starting from handwashing to brushing your teeth.
Hygiene helps prevent spreading harmful bacteria, infections, and viruses. That makes it the best and easiest disease prevention technique.
Without proper hygiene, people become susceptible to widespread health issues. This could be the common cold or more serious illnesses like the flu.
Dental Hygiene
Dental hygiene is one of the key factors to keeping good hygiene.
This begins with brushing your teeth at least twice a day, both morning and night. Along with brushing comes flossing and mouthwash to help remove plaque and prevent gum infections.
Poor dental hygiene leads to cavities, gum infections, and in serious cases heart conditions.
Having regular checkups and cleanings with dentists play a crucial role in your dental hygiene because even if you can’t feel it, you never truly know what’s going on in your mouth.
Body Hygiene
Body hygiene is keeping the body clean.
The most important aspect of body hygiene is bathing or showering regularly. This helps remove the dirt, excess oils, and sweat you’ve built up over the previous days.
Showering and changing into clean clothes daily help reduce the risk of skin infections, including acne or fungal infections.
Proper body hygiene also builds confidence and comfort in your wellbeing. Feeling fresh and clean positively impacts your interactions with others.
Hand hygiene
Hand hygiene is one of the most effective methods to prevent the spread of diseases and illnesses.
Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds already helps remove disease, dirt, and viruses that could cause illness.
Using this method is really important after using the bathroom, handling food, or being in public areas.
Throughout the day you touch many infected surfaces such as your phone, toilets, doorknobs, and tables. These surfaces have harmful bacteria that could be washed off with soap and water.
Nail Hygiene
Nail Hygiene is very important but it is an overlooked part of personal hygiene.
It involves keeping your fingernails and toenails trimmed, clean, and strong. Nails should be free from bacteria and dirt.
Nails can easily trap germs that you pick up from everyday activities if they’re not cleaned regularly. These germs can enter your body through eating/drinking or when touching your face. They can also enter through cuts and wounds.
Poor nail hygiene can lead to infections like, stomach aches, paronychia, and buildups of bacteria.
Cleaning and trimming your nails regularly helps prevent issues like infections or stomach aches, and also helps your nails grow strong and healthy.
Clothing Hygiene
Clothing hygiene means wearing, cleaning, and changing clothes regularly. After sweating from physical activities our clothes absorb our sweat and oil from our skin including dirt and dust throughout the day.
If you continue to wear unwashed clothes regularly, not only will it give you a bad odor it will also lead to skin irritations and or bacterial infections.
Clean clothes help prevent health problems but they also help with boosting self esteem and presenting a positive image to others.
Ear Hygiene
Ear hygiene focuses on cleaning, managing earwax build ups, and cleaning the outer part of our ears.
Wiping the outside of our ears with a damp cloth or paper towel helps remove dirt and excess wax. Doing this regularly prevents itchy buildups and helps keep our ears clean.
Inserting cotton swabs/q-tips or fingers into our ears can push the wax in further leading to an uncomfortable buildup and ear infections. It can also damage our hearing if pushed further.
It is recommended by doctors to use an earwax remover tool to remove ear wax build ups. The tool is in the shape of a tiny spoon which helps safely remove earwax and not push the wax forward.
Maintaining good ear hygiene prevents discomfort, infections, and hearing problems.
Overall, good hygiene is essential for preventing the spread of illness, staying healthy, and keeping a better image. Making these habits a regular part of your daily life and routine will improve your physical and mental wellbeing.
The term fashion icon is used quite a lot, but what actually makes someone a fashion icon? Surely, everybody has their own opinion on what makes someone a fashion icon, but Google defines it as “a person whose unique and recognized style has a significant impact on fashion trends and culture…”.
Going off of that definition, my mind immediately goes to Marylin Monroe, one of the most popular and classic fashion icons of her day. Marylin Monroe broke barriers back in the 1950s, where fashion for women was often very restricted and modest. She created a whole new world of opportunities for how women present themselves to the world.
I’m sure at the time, Marylyn’s style was critiqued for its boldness just as much as it was praised, but she truly did shift women’s fashion in such a powerful way. It was the start of women being able to embrace their own body and femininity in what they wear. She’s classic, and her fashion marks a turning point for women in history.
Another woman that comes to my mind when talking about fashion icons is Princess Diana. Diana’s fashion is known for being simple and modern, but there’s also a bit of rebellion to it. Being a part of the royal family, expectations were obviously set on how she dressed and presented herself, and she challenged that by wearing a pant-suit set once.
A lot of people still take inspiration from her looks, and admire her fashion for how she subtly gave messages through it. One of her most popular looks, known as the “Revenge Dress” is often labeled that way due to how her husband, Prince Charles, confessed his infidelity on national TV the same night she wore the dress.
Both of these icons have changed women’s fashion since their times, but what about modern fashion icons?
Zendaya Coleman is one of today’s most influential fashion icons, and beloved by many. Even though she started as a Disney Channel star, Zendaya has moved on to much bigger things in her career, and is often always wowing critics and fans alike with her looks.
Zendaya is always making a statement with her fashion, and has even won the Council of Fashion Designers of Americas Fashion Icon Award. Her fashion sense is constantly changing and evolving, but one thing that I think makes it stand out more is that she doesn’t label it. Zendaya herself has stated that she doesn’t have a personal style, and I think that’s what makes it so good. She doesn’t put herself in a box of what fits her style and her look, she just wears what she wants, and it’s always amazing.
