Lights out and away we go: The Formula One season kickoff

Hello, y’all, and welcome back to Formula One! The new season started on Saturday, March 2, for us Americans, kicking off with the Bahrain GP; strap in folks, because we’re in for quite a season!

First of all, I would be remiss not to mention the, frankly, chaotic pre-season. Personnel changes, shock driver moves, and social media rumors, oh my!

We’ll go in chronological order; first, Steiner’s departure. It was, in fact, a firing, not a voluntary resignation—in a January interview with Formulaone.com, he revealed that he wasn’t even allowed to say a proper good-bye to the team. Ayao Komatsu has now been promoted to Steiner’s former position. It’s understood that the change in personnel was implemented because of Haas’ standings—since their founding in 2016, they’ve been consistently at the bottom of the pack. Plagued by money troubles and rather suboptimal choices of drivers (looking at you, Mazepin,) Steiner has helmed this little team since its inception. Perhaps Gene Haas simply thought it was time for a change.

Another shock change of personnel, Hamilton announced shortly before the beginning of the season that he would be leaving the team with which he has won six of his seven world championships, Mercedes. His team of choice? Ferrari. There are many theories behind this shift, the two most popular being the mechanical problems at Mercedes and the prospect of a last hurrah. For their part, both are fairly credible; Mercedes has struggled in the last few seasons, ever since the new regulations came into effect, with Hamilton winning his most recent race in 2021 at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. That’s a long way to fall for the man who holds the most world championships, and perhaps he’s looking for an out. The other theory rests on Hamilton’s long tenure in the sport; he’s 39, practically geriatric for a professional sportsman. He’s stated for a while now that he’s wished to live up to this childhood dream—he grew up in Ferrari’s heyday, watching Michael Schumacher bring home trophy after trophy. Perhaps he regards it as his last chance. For my part, I posit that it’s a mix of both; whatever the case, I wish Lewis Hamilton good luck in his future endeavors.

We must turn, now, to something far more serious. Christian Horner has been accused  of harassment by a female employee who has chosen to remain anonymous. I dislike the way many people have filed this under the category of “silly season drama;” this is a serious case of workplace harassment, if it’s true, and should be unacceptable under any circumstances. Nevertheless, I feel I have the duty to inform you that Red Bull launched an investigation in early February into these complaints; all charges were dropped on the 28th, and the young woman who accused him has been suspended as a result. Horner has since been allowed to resume his position as team president. However, as of the 29th, several emails have been sent, purportedly containing messages between Horner and his accuser. There were 79 images in all, all sent to reporters, top officials at Red Bull, and other Formula One staff; Red Bull Racing has stated that the veracity of the emails cannot be verified.

Alright, onto the actual season! When the lights went out at the Bahrain international circuit, many things happened at once. Max Verstappen got away well, shutting the door on Charles Leclerc, who tried for the outside line; by the 15th lap, he was leading by 25 seconds. This does rather appear to be back to business as usual for Red Bull Racing—we’ve picked up almost precisely where we’ve left off last year, which must be handy for new viewers. Indeed, we have the same top four teams as last season; Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari, Mclaren. It was almost exactly a race from last year–it turned out to be a Red Bull one-two, with the third slot on the podium filled by Carlos Sainz.

Now, that last one is a bit of a shocker. In years past, Sainz has kept his nose relatively clean—he’s usually been hesitant to get into dustups with Leclerc, always respectful of the engineers and never making too much of a fuss about always playing second fiddle to Leclerc. However, now that he no longer has a seat for 2025—confirmed by Ferrari—he seems ready to get out his elbows and prove himself to whoever else will be taking up his contract.

Also fairly typical of races in the early season, there appears to be a variety of mechanical problems happening. Williams is the most affected, with Alex Albon having to slow down considerably to counteract an overheating engine. There were also rumors of Sargent’s car changing settings by itself; personally, I would recommend an exorcism. Leclerc also was combatting a brakes issue, facing perpetual lockups on his front right. Mercedes also faced a power unit issue, affecting both George Russell and Hamilton. All in all, it was a mostly unsurprising start to the season, but I am very much looking forward to watching things develop!

Drawing of a Car 2

By: Pwe Doh Gay

This drawing is a Lamborghini Huracan. I drew the car because I wanted to draw a sports car this time and thought about the Lamborghini Huracan.

I like this drawing more than the first one because the car looks better to me. I like how the pink looks on the car, and how the wheels look. I like how the car turned out because I didn’t think it would turn out this good. But overall, I think the colors of the car need a little work. I would have made the grey on the wheels a different color, and I didn’t really like how the black on the bottom turned out.

I am thinking about making the 3rd and final drawing of a car and making it look the best out of all the cars.

Healthy sleeping habits

By: Calla Fragassi

Image created with Pixlr

Getting a good night’s sleep is the key to a great day, whether you’re going to school, work, or just relaxing at home. Here are a few of the main sleeping recommendations from Mayo Clinic.

  1. Going to bed at a decent and consistent time every night.

If you aren’t going to bed until past 11pm-12am every night, you are going to start to feel a change in your body. Even though everybody’s bodies are different and require a different amount of sleep, it is suggested by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that you get a minimum or 7-8 hours of rest nightly to allow your body to fully refresh and reset. If your body doesn’t get enough, it won’t go through the stages needed to complete the sleep cycle.

  1. Sleep in a comfortable, cool environment

Making sure you are comfortable with your sleeping arrangement is another important factor when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep. Having a cool, dark room or space to sleep will make it easier for you to fall asleep, and stay asleep longer without disruptions. One way to cool down your room is to keep heat out of your room during the day. This could be as easy as keeping your door open, or covering your windows to prevent sunlight from coming in. Doctors recommend keeping your room at a temperature between 60-68ºF for the most comfortable sleep.

  1. Remove electronic devices from your room

Having your phone, computer or any other device with you before you go to sleep may make you stay up later than you need to be. Screen time right before bed can affect your sleep and its quality due to blue light. Blue light interferes with your sleep hormones and can make it difficult for you to fall asleep. Shutting off your phone an hour before bed will help promote faster melatonin production and will help you sleep better.

  1. Avoid eating large amounts of food or ingesting caffeine before bed

Eating right before bed risks the chance of getting an upset stomach or uneasiness which can make it harder to fall asleep. Eating can trigger heartburn and drinking caffeine can result in headaches, nausea and night sweats. Doctors recommend eating 2 hours before you go to bed to settle any possible stomach issues and to avoid negative effects.

  1. Be active during the day

Being active during the day will tire out your body and allow your body to fall asleep more easily at night. Running and completing exercise can help boost serotonin levels, regulate sleep and heighten hormone production at night, including melatonin. The more energy you use up during the day, the more sleep you will need to be able to replenish your body of the energy supply lost. This is why when you don’t do a lot in one day, you will most likely sleep worse than if you had an active day.

There are lots of different ways to help elevate your sleeping experience to have a better day and a better feeling overall. These are just some of the many ways you can improve your sleep, and I would recommend testing some of these out to see which works best for you!

Apps to help you study

By: Hermekay Dehaney

There are multiple apps students can use to assist them when doing homework, and studying for a test. These apps are convenient and accessible to use for a quick study session. In this article, I will tell you some recommended study apps to use that will hopefully help you to study.

  1. Quizlet: Quizlet is a very versatile app that has a wide range of study tools. It offers different study modes, such as flash cards. Quizlet’s flashcard feature allows you to create custom flashcard sets or choose from millions of already pre-made decks that cover every subject.

In my opinion, I find customizing my flashcards very helpful, since it allows you to pick the term and definition, and create them yourself. This tool is a good way to study because it’s a good way to interpret your understanding of what you’re learning. It’s also a good way for friends to study together, which is very helpful if you want to do a quick 5-minute refresh on a topic you’re studying.

Quizlet also offers quizzes that allow you to test your knowledge in different ways using different quiz formats which include multiple-choice, true/false, and matching. After answering and submitting it gives immediate results which allows you to see what you need to improve on.

  1. Quizizz: Quizizz offers a whole variety of different pre-made interactive quizzes for different subjects. They design the app to be engaging by including animated GIFS and memes to gain students’ attention.

One feature I love about the app is that the quizzes are self-paced. You can start and finish your quiz at any time, which is very convenient, and provides flexibility to study at any time, anywhere.

Similar to Quizlet, Quizizz offers instant feedback which lets you know what you get wrong and right which allows you to know what you need to improve on.

  1. Duolingo: Duolingo is a good app if you want to improve and study languages. You can choose from different languages such as French, Spanish, Chinese and many more.

Each lesson includes listening , speaking, and writing which makes studying more productive. I also love how quick and flexible it is.  For example, if you’re in an area where you can’t listen to the audio or speak, there’s an option that allows you to  choose to skip the question.

Another feature I love is how it adapts the lessons based on what you need to improve on; it targets areas of weakness and provides additional practice where needed.

When studying, the right apps can help you improve whatever subject you want to improve on. These 3 apps recommended makes studying easier with their adaptable features, and quick lessons.

Explaining “Taylor’s Version” and why it is important

By: Sophia Elmstrom

‘Fearless Taylor’s Version’ (first re-recorded album)

“Taylor’s Version” is a term that is used widely among people around the world. It is a term that you yourself have for sure heard at some point.

You might be asking yourself what it is, well here is the short answer: re-recorded albums. Taylor’s Version is when Taylor Swift re-records her albums that she has had released for a while and calls them Taylor’s Version.

This all started in 2019 when her producer, Scooter Braun, and the label he worked with sold all of Taylor’s music without her permission. Taylor had decided to fight back and gain all her music back, she re-recorded it and re-released it with the name of ‘Taylor’s Version’. Once Scooter sold all of her music that meant that all the income would come to him and the label instead of Taylor herself. Although Taylor surely does not need the money it is an ethical thing to do by streaming Taylor’s Version and showing support for her.

There were six albums that she would need to re-recorded once she made this decision; ‘Debut’, ‘Fearless’, ‘Speak Now’, ‘Red’, ‘1989’, and ‘Reputation’. Taylor first got the idea to record these when Kelly Clarkson, a talk show host and fellow pop star, suggested it. So far, Taylor has re-recorded 4 of the 6 albums and still has to release ‘Reputation’ and ‘Debut’.

Many Swifties have their own speculations about when these albums are coming out; they call them easter eggs. These Swifities will watch music videos, lyric videos, award shows, and concerts for clues about upcoming albums and songs. During the 2024 Grammys it was speculated that Taylor would announce ‘Reputation Taylor’s Version’ while she was winning the award. Instead the Swifties got something they never would have expected, a brand new album. This album is called ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.

Although every single one of these albums were a huge success and broke records, the one that broke the most records was ‘1989 Taylor’s Version’. ‘1989’ is an album many people grew up with and were very excited about, this caused it to break many impressive records such as the most single day streams ever for an album.

Included in the recordings of these albums there are some songs Taylor likes to call “vault tracks”. Vault tracks are songs that never made it on the original album; she has about 5 vault songs for each re-recording.

My favorite re-recording so far has been ‘Speak Now’, it is the most different to the original. Many Swifties think that is bad but I love that she was embracing her new voice and trying new things out. I also think that the vault songs for ‘Speak Now’ are the best: “Timeless”, “Electric Touch”, “When Emma Falls in Love”, “Castles Crumbling”, “Foolish One”, and “I Can See You”.

In my opinion, Taylor did a great job at claiming back her music and getting many people to support her.

JOYSTiCK empirical non-review – Everything being added in the Minecraft 1.21 update

By: Daniel Kendle

Every year, the game ‘Minecraft’ implements a series of new features into the game as part of a themed update. While we don’t have the name for the newest update, update 1.21, we do have a good amount of features already-showcased in snapshots for the game, where players can test and report feedback on the new additions. Today we’ll be looking at the features that have been announced so far.

The first item of interest is a new block, called the Crafter. It’s a variant of the Crafting Table, a legacy feature that lets players craft items, placing materials in a 3-3 grid. It’s arguably the most useful block in the game, and the crafter promises to be an interesting alternative. The Crafter lets you automatically craft things, having items be input into the machine by means of hand or pipeline.

You first open up the interface of the block and click on any of the 9 gridded squares to let input items not go into the slots. Then, you connect a line of Hoppers (an equivalent of pipes) and send items through them. Just give the crafter a pulse of energy and you’ll have items flying out of its output slot. It’s a fairly-complex system, but one that’s a lot easier to use in game than how I write it here.

The Crafter will be great for automatic farms, since in the past you could only harvest raw materials like pumpkins from a pumpkin farm, eggs from a chicken farm, and sugar from a sugarcane farm. But with the new block, you can combine the 3 into a single Crafter to dispense pumpkin pies, which can speed up the process of manually-crafting. This is just an example of how the block will impact farms in ‘Minecraft,’ and I’m excited to use it in the future.

The next feature is actually a new animal, or “mob,” as the game officially calls creatures in the game. The Armadillo is a passive creature that spawns in the variants of Savannahs and Badlands, and brings with it a new type of armor, not for you, but for your pet wolves or dogs.

Armadillos are very skittish, and will curl up into a ball if you sprint near it, or if hostile mobs are around. They can still be hurt in this state, so it’s not the most effective defense. However, if you use a brush on the animal or just wait for a time, they’ll drop scutes. 6 of these scutes can be combined into Wolf Armor, which gives your pets some extra defense. This is great for adventurers, and I overall really enjoy the Armadillos and the new items they bring.

On the cosmetic front, we now have some cool new decorative blocks. The Tuff block can now be made into bricks, stairs, slabs and chiseled variants of the porous rock, donning a cloudy-gray texture throughout its family. The chiseled pair of blocks especially are interesting, as Tuff is the first stone to have 2 different chiseled variants, which is fun for building.

The family of Copper blocks have been upgraded too. Prior to update 1.21, Copper blocks consisted of stair, slab, and cut variants, as well as Lighting Rods. Now we have some new types such as Copper Grates, a transparent-ish block that looks like a factory catwalk, or copper trapdoors and doors. Alongside Chiseled Tuff is Chiseled Copper, though I think that the latter is far less interesting of a design.

For the last Copper block added, we have another technical feature like the Crafter: the Copper Bulb. The bulb will light up when a Redstone pulse (the ‘Minecraft’ equivalent of electricity) is received. Interestingly, the bulb doesn’t need a constant source of power to remain lit, just a single pulse. This means the block is effectively a T Flip-Flop, a term in the game’s community for a type of Redstone circuit. As someone who’s not super well-versed on Redstone technology, I’m not too keen on what it does, but after some later nerfs from future snapshots the Copper Bulb isn’t as viable as it once was, so there’s something. But to conclude this portion, I think that the new Tuff and Copper blocks are cool, but nothing super exciting.

The largest part of the update so far – and what the bulk of this overview will be about – are the Trial Chambers, a new underground structure being added to the game. They’re sprawling dungeons that are one of the few structures in ‘Minecraft’ that have a replayability factor to them.

When entering a Trial Chamber, the first thing you’ll see are all of the new Copper and Tuff blocks, as the structure’s made of the families. You’ll also eventually find the new Trial Spawner block – one that spawns hostile mobs for you to fight, and a reward from its lid once they’ve been slain. They appear all throughout the chambers, in the corridors and the chambers themselves.

The chambers have spawners, but also some traps, these can range from trapping snow littering the floor of one to buttons on the walls letting arrows or water spew out. These can be hazardous to your pursuit of loot, and help make the Trial Chambers a difficult challenge. The replay factor comes in how the spawners will respawn another set of mobs around 30 minutes after their previous spawning, letting you get infinite loot and infinite battles. The spawners also scale to how many players are around it, letting however many players join the fight to get equal fighting time.

In addition to rewards from the Trial Spawners and various chests, barrels and pots around the chambers, the coolest source of loot to find is from the Vault, a block similar to the spawners in appearance. From the previous 4 sources of loot, you can occasionally find/receive a Trial Key, which can be used to unlock a Vault, giving you even better rewards than you would otherwise. A player can only unlock a Vault block once, which I do hope they change. It would be cool to have an infinite source of loot, with the only caveat being that you’d have to fight for another Trial Key.

Within the chambers are 2 new hostile mobs, which will round out the features introduced in the update so far. The first is called the Bogged, a variant of the normal Skeleton. It can spawn from Trial Spawners and in swamps and mangrove swamps, and has a murky, rotting texture that looks really cool, honestly. They shoot poison-tipped arrows instead of normal ones, and drop them in addition to damaged bows, normal arrows and bones. To compensate, they’re weaker in health and have a slower cooldown between shots.

The more unique mob is called the Breeze. They’re exclusive to the Trial Chambers, also being summoned from their spawners. They’re similar to the Blaze, another hostile mob, and both are manifestations of their respective elements: fire for the Blaze, and wind (or air) for the Breeze. It’s essentially a head floating on top of 3 rods, surrounded by swirling wind. It shoots a projectile called a Wind Charge at players, and can leap and dash around to evade hits. The charge doesn’t hurt the player unless it hits them, but if it misses close enough to the player they’ll be launched, allowing them to be hurt by fall damage. The charges can also activate buttons, levers, doors and trapdoors, letting the traps in the chambers be all-the-more effective in hindering you.

When slain, the Breeze can drop a handful of Wind Charges, which function similar to how the Breeze itself uses them. You can even throw them to the ground mid-jump and propel yourself further into the air, which is really fun.

Overall, the Trial Chambers, Trial Spawners and Vaults, and the Breeze and Bogged are my favorite additions to the update so far. More will be revealed in the future, but for now that’s all the features revealed right now. The update is scheduled to release in mid-2024, and I’m very excited.

What to expect regarding Beyoncé’s new music, straight from the hive

By: Charlie St. Dennis

Picture it. Super Bowl Sunday, 2024. 123 million viewers are tuned in, and right after halftime, an ad for Verizon appears. The concept of the ad was for Beyonce to do stuff and see if she could “break the internet.” She was alongside actor Gary Hale who, after repeatedly telling Beyonce she didn’t break the internet, was instructed to “drop the new music.”

Along with my fellow BeyHive members, I was very excited to open Instagram to find that she did, indeed, drop new music, which was part of a trilogy (this part being “act ii”). What many were surprised to find out was that the two singles she dropped, TEXAS HOLD ‘EM and 16 CARRIAGES, were… country?

Yep, Beyonce released country music. To many this came as a surprise, but not to me. She just completed her ‘Renaissance World Tour’, which was heavily influenced by black queer musicians in three genres they originated: bounce, house, and disco. It only makes sense that she would follow suit with another genre originated by black musicians: country!

Considering that Beyonce has been my most listened artist for years, and I can confidently say I know all of her songs, it’s safe to say that I absorb a lot of speculations regarding what her next steps will be, and here are some of the most likely theories!

  1. “act iii” will be Rock & Roll This is one of my favorite theories because it stems from Beyoncé’s British Vogue photo shoot from 2021, just months before the announcement of ‘Renaissance’. She shot with 3 different themes, one being disco (potentially ‘Renaissance’), one being at a rodeo (potentially “act ii”), and one being on a motorcycle with a Joan Jett-esque haircut (potentially “act iii”, and potentially Rock & Roll!)
  2. What is the title of “act ii?” Many Beyonce fans believe that the title of “act ii” will be ‘Rodeo’, considering she announced the album just days before the start of the Houston Rodeo, which is where she was born. This would also, obviously, apply to the country theme. While many fans agree that this is the likely name, some have other ideas. Other name ideas include ‘Enlightenment’ or ‘Reflection’, in the spirit of learning new genres and reflecting on their history. Another prominent one is ‘Redemption’, which many people see as a way of Beyonce announcing she’s reclaiming these genres that were once originated by people of color.

3. Guest Artists! One of the writers of “Texas Hold ‘Em”, producer Killah B, was asked if there would be any guest artists on the new album, including perhaps another music industry icon Taylor Swift, and his response was “Let’s just say, she’s (Beyoncé) on the approach of shocking the world. I’ll let your imagination decide what that means”.

Another theory about guest artists is Lady Gaga. 15 years ago, Gaga and Beyonce released the music video for their hit joint single, “Telephone,” which ends with the two stars driving on an old country road with a banner saying “To Be Continued.” Many believe that they will, finally after all these years, come together to make a new song, after the promo video for the album featured a car driving on a beaten country road.

Stay tuned for “act ii” on streaming on March 29th! We got “Texas Hold ‘Em” to number one, let’s get the whole album!

Drawing of a car

By: Pwe Doh Gay

I drew this car because I like cars. This drawing I drew is a 1970 Dodge Challenger, and I drew it because I thought of the ‘Fast and Furious’ Vin Diesel car.

I really like how the car turned out and how the color of the car looks. I also like how the green makes it pop. But I think the wheels and engine need a touch up. The wheels aren’t very round and the engine does not look like an engine, but I still really like it.

I am thinking about drawing more cars and making  them look better each time. My favorite part about the car is the body and how the color looks on it.

THE BATTLE OF TSUVUKI STRAIT: ARCERIUM RISING 1

By: Hoaseng Thao

*Note: This is a work of fiction. This story is set in a fictional world where there are countries at war.

Background

On July 9th, 2020, the Republic of Nashua declared war on the island nation of Foseta on the basis of the nation harboring anti-Nashuan militant groups which threaten Nashua’s national security. But from the beginning of the war, the Nashuan military were unable to set foot on the Fosetan mainland due to the large Fosetan navy that constantly defended the western coast.

The main naval defenses of Foseta was concentrated on the western coast, which saw the majority of fighting during the war, however this concentration of ships and military personnel in the west would see the eastern coast to be left undefended by the main fleets of the navy. This factor would be exploited by the Nashuan navy as they were getting desperate for a victory after countless defeats off the western Fosetan coast.

Prelude

At 400 hours, Central Vaserian Time, on September the second, 2020, two ships belonging to the Ridge fleet of the Nashuan navy, the dreadnought NRS (Nashuan Republican Ship) Vitician and the landing ship NRS Julupe, are ordered by Admiral Se Gull to capture the Fosetan coastal defenses on the southern tip of the island of Hosi, which would allow the Nashuan ships to cross the Tsuvuki Strait and land troops onto mainland Foseta.

“Flag of the Fosetan Commonwealth”

“Flag of the Republic of Nashua”

Stationed on the island are a small detachment of Guardsmen from the Fosetan 110th coastal battery unit of the Coastal Corps, and a company of 200 marines from the 8th Marine regiment. Despite the low number of stationed troops on the island, the small detachment was armed with an array of artillery pieces, including two 305mm twin turret coastal artillery pieces but only one was operational.

At the time, both the NRS Julupe and the Vitician were unaware of the presence of the two 305mm pieces stationed on the island as the artillery pieces were originally meant to be decommissioned a year prior in a public press conference, but for unclear reasons, one piece was left intact and operational.

Battle

At 700 hours, the NRS Vitician, just 16 miles off the coast of Hosi, fired its four fourteen inch caliber guns off its port side, their intended target being the coastal guns located on the island, not including the two 305mm artillery pieces. As planned, the NRS Julupe began to depart from the Vitician but due to miscommunication between the Viticians captain, Karl V. Dimo, and Julupe’s captain, Diamon Gein, the NRS Julupe’s path coincided with the path of the Viticians next barrage from its guns.

Realizing that the Julupe was in the incoming path of the Viticians guns, the Vitician ceased her firing, giving the Fosetan marines and guardsmen time to prepare a counter barrage. One Lieutenant from the Fosetan Coastal Corps, Lieutenant Viron Ick, was asleep when the first barrage from the Vitician was fired; however the ceasing of her guns gave him and his men enough time to arm one of the 305mm coastal guns.

At around 715 hours, the Julupe landed the 28th Nashuan Marine Regiment onto the shores of the island, but their landing point was facing towards a steep hill that made it difficult for the marines to overrun, leading to the deaths of many marines as they were gun downed by the few Fosetan marines that dared to fire down the hill.

While the 28th Marines began to make ground around the shoreline, Lieutenant Viron Ick quickly calculated the distance and elevation needed to target the NRS Vitician and at 730 hours, the 305mm gun fired at the dreadnought. One shell missed the ship completely, however one did hit the stern of the Vitician. Completely caught off guard by the 305mm gun, the Vitician, whether it be out of fear of being hit once more or to target the 305mm gun, began to blindly fire at the coastline, damaging the 305mm gun but also committing several friendly casualties as the impacts would hit near the 28th Marines position.

Although damaged, the 305mm gun was able to fire once more upon the Vitician, this time both shells hit the lower parts of the hull, sealing the fate of the dreadnought. Captain Karl V. Dimo, assessing the situation, quickly orders his men to abandon the Vitician and at 750 hours, the dreadnought sunk to the bottom of the strait. With the loss of the Vitician, the remaining marines of the 28th alongside the NRS Julupe and the Vitician surrendered to the Fosetans at 800 hours.

Aftermath

Within only an hour of fighting, 62 Fosetan military personnel were killed in combat while 45 Nashuan Marines and 5 Nashuan sailors of the Vitician were killed. With the failed landing of the island, the Fosetan navy quickly began to protect the eastern coastline to prevent any more Nashuan ships from exploiting the low numbered coastal defenses. For his actions at the battle for Tsuvuki Strait, Lieutenant Viron Ick would receive the Hernikan Cross for his actions in sinking the NRS Vitician.

Facing humiliation, the Nashuan naval command fired and publicly executed Admiral Se Gull for his failure for not accounting for the presence of the 305mm gun. Just five weeks after the battle, Nashua would sue for peace with Foseta as they had failed to conduct landing operations on the Fosetan mainland.

On November 9th, 2045, the Vaserian Federation Defense Forces would declassify a document that contained information about a Vaserian submarine, the VSS (Vaserian Sailing Ship) Commerth’s role in stalking the NRS Julupe and the NRS Vitician before and during the battle of Tsuvuki Strait. The document would note that the submarine was well aware of the Nashuan ships destination but did not notify Foseta of this information, which would sour relations between the two nations.
